Too many lots selling below their estimate ranges led to softness in the results of the recent Photographs sale at Doyle in New York. More than 53% of the lots that found buyers did so under their estimate ranges, and while there were a number of low priced positive surprises, their momentum wasn’t enough to pull up the overall numbers.
